![]() Sometimes, in the midst of an icy, cold winter, you find yourself looking for a super silly read, to lift your spirits and give you a good laugh. Well look no further! The brain, aka Theopilus Nero Hercule Sherlock Wimsey Father Brown Marlowe Spade Christie Edgar Allen Brain, is annoying, intriguing, and very effective. From the moment his sidekick, the introverted outcast Sheldon McGlone, finds a severed human leg and an enormous salt water crocodile barking like a dog in the Brain's bedroom you know that this is no ordinary mystery. Killer attack whales, thieving kangaroos, and stalking birds add to the zany nature of this beyond ridiculous story, and before you know it you will be laughing like a demented hyena yourself. Plus, the setting, Farrago Bay, Australia, will keep you warm and toasty, with it's crocodiles, surfers, and sunsets. And who doesn't need a little warmth this chilly winter?

![]() I have been pondering what to say about this book, as I love it SO SO SO much, but it is a bit hard to explain. It's not that it is a confusing book, it is just that it doesn't fit into any one genre (try a mix of historical fiction, magical realism, realistic fiction, and adventure) and so many incredible things happen in it! This wonderful and magical book is for you if you are interested in reading about friendship, loss, the number Pi, the Appalachian Trail, giant black bears, pirates, and timber rattlesnakes. Yes, rattlesnakes :) ![]() Here are links that may help you with your Road to Revolution research: http://www.pbs.org/ktca/liberty/chronicle_timeline.html http://www.kidport.com/reflib/usahistory/americanrevolution/Quest.htm http://www.studyzone.org/testprep/ss5/b/causrev.cfm http://mrnussbaum.com/history-2-2/stampact/ http://mrnussbaum.com/history-2-2/bostonmassacre/ http://mrnussbaum.com/history-2-2/btparty/ http://www.studyzone.org/testprep/ss5/b/causrev.cfm ![]() Looking for a creepy read? Look no further! I know you aren't supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but I couldn't help it with this book. It was the doll, the black background, the saying. But when I first started reading it I was a bit disappointed. Was it really just going to be about some kids playing with action figures? How boring. How trite. How silly. But boy was I wrong! A mystery... A quest... A creeper.... a murder... It's all in there! Sound interesting? READ IT TODAY!.
