What a start to the day this morning, is it raining? Is it snowing? Is the sun in, or out? I decided to check out one of my favorite livestreams to see what the weather is doing in beautiful Lake Placid, and it did not disappoint! First it was snowing, then just raining, and now - at least as I post this - a beautiful sun rise is battling it out with storm clouds. Who knows what it will look like as you read this, which is one of the best things about livestreams - you never know what you will see! What I do know is that this livestream is always so relaxing, with the meeting of water and mountains beneath a gorgeous Adirondack sky. Take a look, you'll see. This livestream started streaming on Feb 1, 2019. It is sponsored by the Golden Arrow, a resort in Lake Placid, and it is used to raise awareness and funds for the protection of Mirrow Lake. The following information accompanies the video: "The webcam powering this livestream is being used to record and archive high resolution images of Mirror Lake every minute. These images will be used to help maintain the ice record for the lake, one of the longest lake ice records in the country. The images will also be available to other researchers to monitor changes in the arrival of loons, changes in snow fall, shifts in the timing of fall foliage, etc. This livestream provides all those that love Mirror Lake, near and far, to have a constant connection to this beautiful waterbody. " So beautiful and super interesting too! Comments are closed.
