"Choose Your Own Adventure" books are very popular here at MMS as they are super fun and informative. Watch this video to hear more, and check out the bibliography below for a complete list of the titles that the library owns. If you would like to check one out send us a request through the MMS Library Book Request Form. Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, the newest in a series of spacecraft designed to monitor our oceans, will be launching TOMORROW from Vandenberg Air Force Base in central California. Liftoff is targeted for 12:17:08 p.m. EST. It's mission is to collect the most accurate data yet on global sea level and how oceans are rising in response to climate change. There are a few ways to get involved. You can register for the event, which will keep you in the loop about launch schedule changes and give you access to information about launch related activities and launch resources. Plus they will send you a passport stamp, if you'd like to download and print their Virtual Launch Passport , which I think would be super fun to fill up by watching as many launches as I could. Or you can watch live on NASA's public channel or the NASA TV media channel.
I'm still reading books and I hope you are too! You can request books to be delivered to you on the weekly bus runs. Watch the video below and send us a request through the MMS Library Book Request Form. Booktalks on:

Hey, are any of you birders? Birding is new to me, but already I am having a blast! This photo is of a Gray Jay, a very chatty, friendly bird that you can encounter around here this time of year. This one followed me for quite a distance recently on the Bloomingdale Bog Trail, a great local birding destination. As I get into this new hobby I am using eBird to educate myself. eBird, a joint project between the Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Orinthology, is a free online program - and App! - with a ton of information. Do you already know a lot about birds and have some photos to show me? Send them to me today so I can start expanding my knowledge - thanks!
Your challenge is to imagine that you are leading a one-week expedition to the Moon's mysterious South Pole and it's craters, and to write an essay telling NASA all about it.
