Oooooooo, a friend just challenged me in the coolest way! I don't know if it's an "official" challenge, or just something he thought up, but he asked me to find a previously abandoned book in my house, and then read the first 10 pages to give it one more chance. I was immediately interested, but it was a bit hard to find a book, as I am the type of reader who tries really hard to make it all the way through a book, no matter what. But I found one! The book is The Battles at Plattsburgh: September 11, 1814 by Keith Herkalo. It seemed like a good fit for me when I grabbed it from my camp, as I adore nonfiction and am very interested in the Plattsburgh area. However, every time I have tried to read it I lose interest in the battles, which is a problem as that is what the book is about, LOL. But this challenge has me all psyched up and ready to give it another try.Do you have a book - or books - that you gave up on reading? If so, why not do the challenge as well? It looks to be a rainy day, so why not? And don't forget to shoot me an email at [email protected] to let me know what book you are giving a second chance to, and if it worked. I really enjoy getting your messages!Comments are closed.
